Fully Guided Dusky Goose Trips

The "Dusky: goose is a rare and very sought after sub species of Canada goose that is only legal to hunt in Alaska. These geese spend their summer in our home town of Cordova and the surrounding area. They are distinguished by they darker belly feathers, smaller stature, and longer beak than a cackler. There are less than 15,000 of these birds left in the world and less than 60 get shot every year. making them rarer than even the emporer goose. We are one of only three guide services that know how to get clients on these birds consistently, and the only third generation locally owned and operated one out of Cordova, where the majority of these birds nest.

 

Come join us for this amazing dusky goose + duck hunting experience. Stay in our private client apartment in Cordova each night, departing each morning before first light onboard our high speed jet vessel F/V Second Wind. We can also turn this into a boat based live aboard trip with optional DIY deer and guided salt water fishing opportunities, more info on those above with our combo hunt package. Bring your camo gear, shotgun, and at least a couple boxes of steel shot shells for each day of hunting and let us provide the rest. We will set up in natural blinds and shoreline rock outcroppings and use molded UFO layouts and a huge variety of custom made decoy strings and silhouettes and place you in some great zones to attract these bucket list birds. We will also utilize canoes to sneak into roosting zones.

Hunt for the rare and elusive Dusky Canada goose plus all the beautiful variety of Seaducks and puddle ducks that PWS has to offer, including Harlequin, Bufflehead, Barrow’s and Common Goldeneye, Surf Scoter, White-Winged Scoter, Common "Black" Scoter, Common Merganser, Greater Scaup, mallard, pintail, northern shoveler, wigeon, teal, and the elusive Old Squaw (long tailed duck)​

 

Required Party Size 4 - 6 hunters, non-hunters also welcomed to join for sight seeing.

 

 Lodging in Cordova, courtesy car use, airport transportation, sight seeing opportunities, and snacks while on the vessel are complimentary.

 

Lakeside Cabin available for upgrade upon request.
