Mountain Goat
Prince William Sound Mountain Goat Hunts with Serenity Adventure Charters
Experience the rugged majesty of Prince William Sound on an unforgettable Alaska mountain goat hunt with Serenity Adventure Charters aboard the F/V Serenity or F/V Sentinel. We offer two distinct options to match your adventure style:
DIY Drop-Off Transport Hunts
For seasoned hunters seeking an independent experience, our DIY drop-off transport service delivers you and your gear safely to prime goat country. We’ll navigate deep into secluded coves and fjords to access remote alpine basins where trophy billies roam undisturbed.
After you disembark with your equipment, we remain on standby to provide reliable pickup at a predetermined date and time—or as soon as you signal ready extraction. This option gives you maximum flexibility and self-reliance while still enjoying the safety and logistical support of an experienced local crew.
Live-Aboard Boat-Based Hunts
Prefer comfort and mobility? Our live-aboard mountain goat hunts let you use the vessel as your floating base camp. Each day, you’ll ride ashore by skiff to begin your climb, returning each night to hot meals, warm bunks, and hot showers. This style is ideal for those who want to hunt hard without sacrificing a good night’s rest—or who want to reposition quickly if weather or animals dictate a move.
Combo Hunt Opportunities
Prince William Sound offers incredible variety. Many guests choose to combine their goat hunt with:
-
Black Bear Hunting – Coastal black bears prowl the beaches and mountainsides in fall and spring.
-
Sitka Blacktail Deer – Abundant on forested islands.
-
World-Class Fishing – Rockfish, pcod, lingcod, abound.
-
Guided Sea Duck Hunting – Pursue harlequin, bufflehead, Barrow’s goldeneye, scoters, and long-tailed ducks amid stunning scenery.
We can customize your trip to include any combination of these pursuits, making the most of your time afield.
Licensing & Tag Information
Mountain goat tags in our part of Alaska are available over the counter, making planning simpler. However, important residency restrictions apply:
-
Non-residents may only hunt mountain goats in Alaska if accompanied by an Alaska-licensed guide or a resident hunter who is a first-degree relative (parent, sibling, or child).
-
If you’re a non-resident without qualifying kin in Alaska, you will need to hire a registered guide (we can connect you with trusted guide partners if needed).
